Chamonix is most famous for the Vallee Blanche, a 22 km off-piste glacier run with sensational views - a guide is essential.

PRE ST DIDIER SPA

Not far from Courmayeur through the Mont Blanc tunnel, is Pré-Saint-Didier Spa: a unique treasure right inthe heart of Valle d'Aosta. A timeless place that adds a new meaning to the concept of spa, well being and spiritual rebirth.

Three outdoor thermal swimming pools facing Mont Blanc, hammam, six different saunas and water jets to afford every chance for maximum relaxation and regeneration.

MONTENVERS TRAIN

The famous little red rack and pinion railway is the perfect way to spend an afternoon if you fancy a break from the slopes.

The little train ascends to 1913m to the stunning Mer de Glace and the ice caves, which are re-sculpted each year into the retreating glacier. This is a real slice of Chamonix nostalgia.

AIGUILLE DU MIDI

The Aiguille du Midi cable car held the record for the world's tallest cable car for two decades when it was built in 1955. The record may have gone but the views are still as spectacular as ever.

If you are in Chamonix this is one activity that you really should do.

THE ITALIAN JOB

After your day's activities why not spend the evening in the neighboring resort of Courmayeur.

Leaving Chamonix at 5pm, we reach the foot of the Italian slopes and travel by skidoo to our restaurant – a thrilling trip piloted by expert local drivers.

After a fantastic dinner of the very best regional Italian cuisine, we return to the valley on skis with torchlit descent (non skiers can descend by skidoo).
